Black, from the Northeast, LGBTQIAPN+, and Candomblé practitioner, Fábio Osório Monteiro has developed his career for 26 years in works supported by emotion, humor, faith, and politics. Nominated for the 33rd Shell Theatre Award for Best Actor (2023), Fábio Osório is an artist interested in reflecting on the black body in the scene.

Active in different artistic languages, Osório is also a dancer, producer, and a Baiana of acarajé, affiliated with ABAM (National Association of Baianas of Acarajé and Mingau). Born in Salvador-BA, he carries his home-city with him wherever he goes. Osório dances to feed the body and cooks to feed the soul.

A versatile and independent artist who embraces multitudes, Osório holds a degree in Administration (UFBA), a Master's degree in Dance (PPGD-UFBA), and a doctorate in "molejo and charisma" (Bahia already gave me the ruler and compass!). Fábio Osório Monteiro has collaborated with several internationally renowned artists: Marcio Abreu, Jorge Alencar, Cristian Duarte, Denise Stutz, Cristina Moura, Renato Linhares, Alex Cassal, and Xavier Le Roy.

He was a co-founder and member of Dimenti Produções from 1998 to 2022. Currently, he collaborates with the Cia Brasileira de Teatro (PR) and the Grupo Foguetes Maravilha (RJ).

Bola de Fogo

In Bola de Fogo, Osório, properly dressed as a baiana, prepares the board, works the batter, fries the fritters while developing a narrative that crosses the myths and itãs of African origins with autobiographical characters. He narrates himself and other Black, LGBTQIAPN+, Northeastern, and candomblé practitioners.
