Collective Occupation

Created in 2017 by performers and artists who met during the uprising of the secondary education movement and the occupations of public schools in São Paulo, between 2015 and 2016. From the meeting between rebellion and theater, between formation and creation, the collective occupation is born, as a research territory of different languages and narratives from urgent uprisings and battles of our time: bodies in revolt, which now occupy new spaces and narratives.

The group has built a path of presentations and workshops for young people in major festivals and theaters in Brazil and Europe, such as the Festival de Curitiba, FIT (International Festival of Rio Preto), Cena Brasil Internacional, Festival de Londrina. In June 2019 the colectivA occupation had its project “Quando Quebra Queima na Escolas: Pausa para Existir” (When it Breaks it Burns in Schools: Pause to Exist) awarded by the Zé Renato prize given by the Municipal Secretary of Culture of São Paulo for promoting theater, for the circulation of the show in more than 10 public schools , culture factories and cultural centers. In Europe, they presented at the Transform Festival in Leeds, Festival MEXE in the city of Porto, Panorama Festival in Paris at the Centre National de La Dance. They were invited to a two-week residency and season at the Battersea Arts Center in London and at the Contact Theater in Manchester.

Eruption

Erupting bodies, creature bodies, beings that sustain the World so that it doesn't end. The colectivA Ocupação provokes a new urgency in this new spectacle; the transfiguration of their bodies into beings of different times and cosmologies. In a moment of world catastrophes, performers create and produce an eruption of bodies and forms of presence. In a trans-technological scene, of party and war, witchcraft and subversion, through a collective dramaturgy, dance, music and visual arts. ERUPTION is a science fiction that transits between present and future pasts, proposing a diasporic transit of each performer's memory-body to cross time, promoting a piece that summons forces, struggles and production of lives linked to the ancestry that constitute the collective body. Dissident bodies create worlds every day. What possibilities can be born at this moment? Which spaces can the eruption occur in the present reality?

When it Brakes it Burns

When it Brakes it Burns  is an act, party, uprising spectacle that happens close to the audience transforming and tensing the space of the scene at every moment, as a manifestation that displaces the real to the scene. The piece, which is on the border between performance and theater, is a "dance-fight", a collective chorus built from the experience of struggle and affection of each performer and their relationship with the spaces in which they live. 15 insurgent bodies displace to the scene the experience they had inside the occupied schools for months, creating a collective and common narrative from the perspective of those who lived the day to day of this movement inside and outside, reliving the path from inside the classroom to the demonstrations and occupations. Using art as a tool for struggle, in the desire to create other perspectives on stories that are marginalized on a daily basis, ancestry is found through music, song, theater, dance, and visual arts, generating a collectivity that

visual arts, generating a collectivity that is stronger from the bottom up.
